The Advanced Energy Conversion Research (AECR) Lab is directed by Dr. Youmin Hou. Our lab's research intersects the multidisciplinary fields of thermo-fluid sciences, surface engineering, energy, and water technologies. 

We leverage state-of-the-art fabrication techniques, unique metrology, and model prediction capabilities to enable further developments in: i) fundamental research on micro/nanostructured surfaces for phase change and interfacial phenomena, and ii) applied research on systems including thermal energy conversion, turbine dehumidification, desalination, etc.
